Damian and Ed Fishing

I have not blogged for a while but I was having fun and had too little time to spend on the computer - I will try to do better.

Damian had mentioned that he would like his grandpa Ed to take him fishing. The original plan was to teach Damian to fly fish the Bow River but since the massive floods in June it has been very difficult to  consistently locate fish. We will give that a try next summer.
Plan B - find a local reservoir with a good head of fish and get him going on those.

 Fish on - Damian is a quick learner and was soon into fish on our first outing.

 Damian caught 20 walleye in our two visits and I think he is hooked. Nothing big but of a size that it was fun to catch them.

It wasn't  too long before he was baiting up, landing them himself, unhooking and returning them  unharmed to fight another day.

 Ed caught a few too - small pike and a few walleye.

Damian wants to go back and catch some mum and dad pike - the big ones.

Now that Damian has caught some fish, he will be able to have a little more patience and wait for a big one to come along. We will target them next spring.
