Antigua

The ship docked right in the town of St Johns and as we have been here before we decided a walking and exploring day should be the plan. As with any port town the place was busy - lots of hustle and bustle. Must remember that here, driving is on the opposite side of the road to Canada - heads up and take care - not easy to stay focused when there is so much of interest to see. Almost as soon as we were ashore one of the first things to catch our eye was a casino - an odd looking place with lots of street art applied to the outside walls. No,we were not tempted to go in.
This young couple were singing gospel songs for tourist dollars.
This old guy was drumming for - yes, you guessed it - tourist dollars. Not quite begging, so it is easy to justifying dropping a dollar here and there.
We saw a couple of interesting signs - must be a problem in this neck of the woods - there are very few public restrooms.
Ed was tempted but the lady advised him to come back when he was younger and actually had some hair to braid.
The buildings in town are painted in a variety of vibrant colours which are very appropriate for the area. We wondered if our neighbours in Calgary would appreciate these same colours on our homes.
After a "longish" walk - it's very hot - we sat outside a bar, in the shade for an hour or so before returning to the ship.
This little tub anchored alongside and we were assured that it was not the vessel for the remainder of our trip.
